Soundwave’s 60-second social audio clips, called Waves, are now enhanced with Dolby.io.

Soundwave is excited to announce an integration with Dolby.io, the developer platform from  Dolby Laboratories, to enhance audio quality on the Soundwave social audio app.

Through integration of Dolby.io Media Processing APIs, Soundwave is now able to help users produce higher-quality Waves with clearer audio and fewer distractions.

Whether you’re recording in a busy coffee shop, had an unexpected child-outburst-interruption, or simply forgot to get close enough to your phone’s microphone, the Dolby.io technology ensures the highest quality audio output.

“Before the Dolby.io integration, Soundwave’s audio quality was fully dependent on each user’s recording environment,” says Soundwave Co-Founder and CEO Dan Ndombe. “Now, users don’t even have to think about where they are or how close they are to their phone—Dolby.io  APIs do all of the heavy lifting to bring the audio quality up to where it needs to be.”

“Dolby is excited to work with Soundwave to enhance sound on the app,” says Aaron Liao, VP Developer Experience at Dolby Laboratories. “Soundwave is innovating quickly in the social audio space, with short-form audio clips, but with that comes the difficulty of maintaining high-quality, user-generated sound content. With Dolby.io, Soundwave can continue to delight its users with the high-quality content that they expect and deserve.”

The Dolby.io integration happens seamlessly on the backend of the Soundwave app, so users won’t have to lift a finger to enhance their Waves. They just sit back, record, and hear the difference.

Download Soundwave for iPhone and iPad to speak your mind and hear the difference with the new Dolby.io integration.
